CERTIFICATE COURSE IN ROTARY ENDODONTICS

rotary endodontics course in Delhi

Dr. Rajat Sachdeva’s dental institute offers certificate courses in rotary endodontics as a part of advanced endodontics course.

While dentists have been performing root canals for many years, there has been significant advancements in the technology. In fact, the most recent development in root canal therapy is using rotary endodontics. Unfortunately, not all dental practices have adopted this advanced methods, mostly due to the insufficient knowledge and exposure in that area. However, it is highly recommended that we gain sufficient knowledge in the field as it can provide profound advantages to the patient and the dentist.

What is rotary endodontics?

Rotary endodontics is an advanced subspecialty of endodontics that uses electrically-powered instruments to perform the root canal treatment instead of traditional manual files made of stainless-steel.

The rotary endodontic files has nickel titanium (NiTi) tip, which makes it up to five times more flexible than the original steel tools. This holds a classic upper hand over the traditional endodontics as it allows the instrument to be passed easily into the curved root canal without damaging the tooth structure and altering its anatomy. This will in turn help the dentist perform root canal smoother, faster and the results are more reliable. Post-operative complications are also less likely to occur.

The introduction of nickel-titanium in endodontics, including various root canal preparation techniques especially using rotary instruments, has become popular to eliminate the shortcomings of conventional endodontics like unsatisfactory canal shape, time-consuming process and ultimately leading to patient’s un-cooperation.

Advantages of rotary endodontics

The flexibility of the nickel-titanium instrument is the main selling point of rotary endodontics. This instrument has the unique ability to maneuver easily and precisely into the deep curved pathway of a root canal, which means the infected pulp can be removed and the canal can be cleaned without stretching or damaging the delicate passageway of the tooth canal.

If we are to list the points why we prefer rotary endodontics over traditional endodontics, the following will be the valued reasons:

  • Faster – Use of electrically driven instruments definitely makes this procedure a quicker and faster option.
  • Superior precision – use of rotary endodontics improves the quality of the procedure and help achieve better precision
  • Better reliability
  • Quieter and smoother – These ultrasonic instruments do not create any unpleasant noise and hence is more comfortable for patients
  • Less complications
  • More comfortable procedure
  • Retreatment – this is one of the most important advantage of rotary endodontics. Conventional root canal retreatment is one of biggest technical difficulties faced by endodontists, as filling materials like gutta per chare present a mechanical barrier. Studies have proven that use of rotary files have significantly improved the outcome and increased the success rate of the procedure. Recently two rotary NiTi retreatment systems have been introduced; they are Protaper universal retreatment files and R-Endo files. They are specifically designed for retreatment of failed endodontic cases.

Considering the benefits of rotary endodontics, it is sincerely suggested that every general dental practitioner choose to learn it so that it can be employed in their practices for betterment of their patients.

Dr. Rajat Sachdeva, the chief mentor of the course has more than two decades of experience in the field and provides exceptional training in rotary endodontics to students worldwide.
