COURSE WORK
Didactic components are delivered through a number of core modules throughout the week. Each module is presented under the concept of evidence-based dentistry. I have completed the Customized 15-days program on fast track implantology by Dr. Rajat Sachdeva . This course had given me an opportunity to reflect upon some of the important concepts in implantology.
The concept on immediate loading – when to and most importantly, when not to was really helpful. I loved the fact that although most of the attendees were already practicing implants, the course worked its way up from the basics. And it was an eye-opener to see how most of us really needed it. From CBCT based diagnosis and planning to prosthetically rehabilitating the patient, each step was given its due importance. During the course, we got to watch many live demonstrations of implants with immediate loading, in both aesthetic and non-aesthetic zones. We also had a chance to practice hands-on exercises on every aspect of implant prosthodontics including impressions, provisionalization, implant occlusion etc. The various challenges that could arise and ways to deal with them was also covered.
We also picked up on the art of effective practice management. The most important concept that I learned from this course is the fact that I must be conscious of tying together both my verbal and nonverbal communication in daily treatment of my patients. While it is a good thing to have knowledge and being able to verbalize that knowledge, but the nonverbal communication must be just as concise and important.
