Every case that we did was planned using the interpretation of 3D CBCT scans and assembled the necessary data needed for surgery. Although the surgical phase was exciting and challenging, step by step description of impression making and prosthetic procedures was also dealt with equal importance. Understanding and managing patient’s desires and transforming them into realistic expectations is really important for the successful outcome of the case, and I am glad that this aspect was not ignored during the course. We were also taught how to recognize, diagnose, manage and prevent potential surgical and prosthetic complications. My training with zygomatic implants under Dr. Rajat Sachdeva has been truly rewarding. I had come with a lot of apprehensions but going back with nothing but confidence. The workshop organized by Dr. Rajat is at par with international standards with state-of-the art equipment. The entire practice is thriving among the digital revolution and it was a pleasure to have had an opportunity to work with it. The course helped us get a working knowledge of different surgical techniques, their benefits and their limitations, including intra and extra-sinus approaches. I finally got a clear understanding about the criteria for successful treatment planning and placements. While viewing live surgeries, the ABC’s of establishing an implant trajectory was emphasized on. We went through both guided and non-guided surgeries in detail with the virtual surgical planning, and the use of specific surgical guides for simplifying the surgical procedure. As much as the technology was available at all times, Dr. Rajat emphasized on the importance of using your intelligence and surgical acumen while performing the surgeries and even demonstrated us small refinements that we can make when required in order to obtain maximum results. Quad zygoma concept was also demonstrated where an atrophied maxilla was rehabilitated with 4 zygoma implants. The various prosthetic options of a zygomatic implant case like hybrid fixed denture, full arch PFM, full arch zirconia bridge or an overdenture were explored. Overall, the entire experience was great and refreshing. I personally liked the entire set up of the workshop and the fact that it was so well-organized and executed superbly. I would love to come back for another course at this institute anyday.

I recently had the opportunity to train under Dr. Rajat Sachdeva for zygomatic implants to rehabilitate patients with severely resorbed and atrophic maxilla. The course was a well-organized one with an elaborate curriculum covering every bit about zygomatic and pterygoid implants. I loved that the training was practically bent in favor of those clinicians who are looking to gain clinical expertise. The technique taught during this course is very unique, failsafe, considering every risk and complications that can arise when dealing with such a complex procedure. Having completed my training in clinical implantology from Dr. Rajat’s institute, I was almost convinced that I needed to attend zygomatic course. Especially after the increased incidence of black fungus which leads to total maxillary bone destruction, it is important for any practicing implantologist to get trained in placing zygomatic implants. It was a good decision because it has just been two weeks since I completed both the courses and I am already doing at least one case per week in my practice. Having said this, I also understand that learning is a continuous process and I still keep in touch with the support team and Dr. Rajat sir for any academic guidance I require. My experience with Dr. Rajat Sachdeva’s Dental institute has been phenomenal. They have definitely set a bar of expectations I am not sure any other academy would be able to fulfil. The faculty teaching the course was pioneers in their own fields and gave us all the guidance needed to comprehend this course. I wanted to learn about zygomatic implants so that I could not only rehabilitate edentulous patients but treat those with severely atrophic maxilla or patients who have had maxillectomy surgeries. This course was complete and an exhaustive one which included apt selection of suitable cases for surgeries, their meticulous planning and then practicing on models using high quality equipment. We learnt the importance of engagement of vertical buttresses including zygomaticomaxillary, nasomaxillary and pterygomaxillary buttress for maximum stress distribution. Learning about ABC 555 protocol during the surgery planning and using it for placing zygomatic implants on models so that the implant comes out at least 5mm away from the orbital rim was really important to safely execute the procedure. We also learnt how to create and use surgical guides which facilitated the correct positioning of implants. Dr. Rajat Sachdeva is a talented surgeon and there are nuances and refinements in the details of his approach that make a difference. These come from a degree of learning by experience and innovation in this procedure that is hard to match anywhere else. I am also thankful to the course conductor Dr. Shreya who has been very accommodating and made our experience pleasant and comfortable. The entire support staff were also very well-mannered and encouraged us to learn more.
