I am a Prosthodontist practicing in Muscat right now. Although I have got over ten years of practical experience in both placing implants and restoring teeth on implants, I was still facing difficulties in my practice.I kept telling myself that I needed to become more knowledgeable, proficient, and I was tired of just restoring implants. Implants are the wave of the future, and I knew that I needed to stay current and better myself as a Prosthodontist. With all that being said, I finally decided to take the plunge and I decided to enroll in a short course on implantology. Upon a lot of search and deliberations, I chose fast track implant course by Dr. Rajat Sachdeva’s dental institute in Ashok Vihar, Delhi.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the multitude and quality of new knowledge and practical tips I have received from this course. Dentistry is a dynamic and challenging field where everything goes fast and we must stay connected, what’s new? Which protocol is better or what should we do or don’t with the data acquired from science. Through this course, a lot of my concepts have now become clear; but I have also realized the mistakes I have been making.
Their concept of “CCARED” is very unique where they let you learn how to select the right cases for immediate implant loading and plan the right approach for placement of immediate loading of dental implants in both anterior and posterior areas. We have had more than 50 case discussions with Dr. Rajat Sachdeva, each of which was filled with valuable tips and tricks to be used in our daily practice, from learning how to use expanders to using various kits to making our own customized kits. They have around 25 implant systems and being able to work with it has really been a true honor.
Many unanswered questions about basic and advanced concepts were addressed. My eyes were opened to the reality of routine implant education and the broad scope of possibilities that lie ahead in implant dentistry. Dr. Sachdeva and Dr. Singh are very knowledgeable and approachable and have put together a top notch program. Blending the hands on, didactic, and research based information was as complete as it could be.
The information on grafting, sinus lifts and management of complications is invaluable. I learnt how to engage bicortical plates, pterygoid and nasal bones for support. I went back to the office and felt confident in my abilities and training to do socket grafts, sinus lifts, suturing, and to utilize membranes and bone graft materials correctly around implants and bone defects.
The surgical exposure that I got here has really improved my skills and clinical acumen. Right from simple extractions to single tooth restorations and full mouth cases, I got to try my hand at each case and practice on live patient. The course has definitely met its expectations and to be honest, exceeded them.
Dr. Rajat has been nothing but encouraging during my entire session and it is his energy and positivity that kept me going and learning new things every day. Although I had enrolled in implantology and endodontics course, I even got to assist Dr. Rajat in zygomatic implant cases as well as pinhole surgery. After this course, I have now started to learn on how to do out of the box thinking, chairside planning and executing the cases accordingly.
Joining this course was definitely coming out of my comfort zone, but it was all worth it and I am glad I went ahead with it. I would like to thank Dr. Rajat Sachdeva and the team for making possible this superb and brilliant course, which will remain a cornerstone implantology reference for me in the years to come.
