This gave me immense confidence to actually start my career and deliver a high quality, standard care to my patients.

Wholesome and all-round knowledge in General Dentistry is a must for every dental clinician. However, even after having completed my BDS, I knew that I definitely lacked the clarity as some of the concepts could not be covered by my college and they needed more of the practical hands on training rather than the theoretical aspects. But due to pandemic, the practical experience was lagging in me.
So I lacked the confidence and that refrained me from starting practicing as a clinician. But then, I came to know about Dr Rajat Sachdeva’s Dental Institute where I got a chance to learn general dentistry once again. It was a beautiful journey working with Dr Rajat Sachdeva, my mentor, who showed complete dedication and motivated me to pursue a concept-based learning. My entire perspective about the practice of dentistry and learning changed positively. Practical sessions with Dr. Sachdeva was an enriching experience for me and gave me a full insight into procedures which enabled me to have a complete grasp of the intricacies involved in the clinical aspects.
The curriculum was divided into 8 modules wherein each aspect of dentistry was covered including Endodontics, Prosthetic and Aesthetic Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Periodontics and Pedodontics.
I have learnt RCTs using apex locator, post and core, extractions, impactions, flaps, splinting of teeth, management of children, direct and indirect pulp capping, zoom whitening procedures and much more. The quality of education we received was of a VERY high standard! The depth of knowledge, range of skills and especially the amount of hands on clinical experience in all aspects of clinical dentistry we received at Dr. Sachdeva’s dental institute surely surpasses my 4 years of graduation.

Having completed my BDS long time ago, I have recently started practicing general dentistry again. While I was confident in carrying out basic procedures like simple extractions, scaling and RCTs for anteriors, I was yet to gain confidence in other commonly encountered procedures in clinical dentistry.
For a relative beginner like me, it is really hard to find a platform where I can learn and grow my skillset. I am grateful that I found Dr. Rajat Sachdeva’s dental institute at this point in my career. Dr. Rajat is a great clinician and very encouraging and determined to increase the standards of dentistry by preaching and practicing the same. When I discussed my inhibitions with him, he encouraged me to join general dentistry course wherein every possible procedure was taught in order to prepare the candidate for a successful dental career.
Performing posterior RCTs, tips and tricks to locate the canals, debride and obturate them so that the success rates increases was really helpful. I even got to use apex locators and microscope to perform RCTs in the best possible way. The institute had collaboration with Protaper Gold, Hu-Friedy, Lava ESPE for crowns and bridges, Zeiss and other known names in the field. I even got to learn the basics of lasers using elexxion dental laser® and observed its application in depigmentation cases, frenectomy and RCTs.
Impactions were another important procedure which I gained confidence in. I got a golden opportunity to perform more than 7 impactions under the guidance of Dr. Rajat sir. He even let us carry out the procedures independently from beginning to end, so that we can completely gain control over the case and the outcome.
I just want to thank Dr. Rajat for making me learn general dentistry concepts in a more interesting way and making me confident about my knowledge and approach. I am eager to apply my newfound knowledge and clinical confidence in my practice now.

I found the general dentistry program at Dr. Sachdeva’s dental institute to be extremely useful to learn basic skills in dentistry. I was able to further my training his mentorship as I stayed back to observe and assist other cases as well at his clinic. The hands-on training was second-to-none and our one-to-one sessions were brilliant. I will always be grateful for this institute as it laid a solid foundation for my career.
Participating in this course has given me a great insight into what goes behind running a successful practice. The only thing that matters to a great practitioner like Dr. Rajat is patients and their satisfaction. And that will only come through sincere work. When you shadow under such an established dentist, you yourself pick up a thing or two about the worldliness of this profession. Apart from learning the procedures I even got to learn about the patient management, importance of documentation and networking.
As far as the practical training goes, there is not one procedure in the rulebook of general dentistry that was not covered during the course. The clinic has good number of patients and it will provide with you with plenty of exposure and challenges.
They start with basics and work up to the advanced techniques. The first thing we learnt was to identify the problem and make treatment plan or plans, followed by explaining the same to patients and convince them to treatment. We got to try our hand at both anterior and posterior RCTs and single sitting RCT using rotary was also shown to us step by step. Once we completed the basic procedures in every specialization, they even walked us through the concept of smile analysis. I have been able to overcome my fear of complex and surgical procedures and I have also found my area of interest that is aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry.
Thank you for the wonderful experience. The course was very informative and equipping. I look forward to coming for more courses in future and I would also recommend this to my juniors and colleagues.
