Immediate Loading Dental Implants: The Critical Role of Insertion Torque

Immediate loading involves much more than delivering a temporary restoration on the same day.

The foundation of every successful immediate loading case is strong primary stability.

A key clinical indicator is the insertion torque achieved at the time of implant placement. When an implant is stable enough from the start, it is better able to withstand functional forces during the healing phase.

If adequate stability is not achieved, even minor implant movement can disrupt the healing process and affect osseointegration.

For most immediate loading cases, clinicians generally look for an insertion torque of around **30–35 Ncm** before proceeding.

This is why successful outcomes are determined long before the final prosthesis is placed.

Careful case selection, precise implant positioning, optimal bone engagement, and achieving primary stability all play a critical role in the treatment outcome.
